Scope
This policy applies to Aviation Data API and describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), Australian Privacy Act 1988, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where applicable.

Information we collect
We collect your email address when you register. We use it to send verification links, sign-in links, and essential service communications. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for marketing or profiling.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Processing is based on: (a) Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)—providing the service you requested; (b) Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)—security, fraud prevention, service improvement; (c) Legal obligation where applicable.
How we use it
Your email is used for account verification, authentication (passkey and email link), and essential service communications only. Account data is stored on our servers. Aviation weather data is fetched from official sources and cached temporarily; it is not personal data.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion at any time. Verification and login (magic link) tokens expire after a short period and are then removed.
Your rights
EU/UK (GDPR): Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California (CCPA): Right to know, delete, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
Australia: Access and correction under the Privacy Act. Complaints to the OAIC.
International transfers
Data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses) where required by law.
